The Polar Alumni Project
Past research in the Arctic and Antarctic has yielded some of the most important discoveries in science and social science. It has also yielded some captivating stories. The IPY Youth Steering Committee, in association with NASA's IGY-Gold project, wants to unite youth with the heroes of those stories. Youth from around the world will sit down with these polar researchers and ask questions about their adventures, listen to their stories and learn from their experiences. It is hoped that these meetings and interviews will be compiled into a book and documentary to share these stories with the world.
