Tourism
The beauty and isolation of the Polar Regions have caused them to be increasingly marketed as sites for tourism. Thousands of tourists travel to Antarctica and the Arctic each year to experience these amazing places for themselves. Is this a good thing? Increasing the number of people who visit the Polar Regions increases the number of advocates for the protection of these unique areas, but it also increases the negative impacts of their visits.
